Last night I tried so many home remedies for a cold/sore throat, I’m not sure which one worked. I also took some cough syrup which made my stomach burn. But something worked because I woke up without feeling terrible! I also passed out hard (sizzurp) and slept on my stomach the whole night (because of said stomachache) so that’s another hypothesis. Additionally, I’d like to warn against trying to self-diagnose by image searching “side of throat red with swollen lymph nodes”, “sore throat”, or anything with “tonsils”. If your throat doesn’t already hurt, it certainly will after viewing those gnarly pictures.
That being said, I decided to juice up some elixirs to speed up recovery. Although I don’t normally like ginger, I threw some in this time because its great for colds and I can suck it up. Woof. But really, semi to my surprise, they all turned out pretty good! A tad more savory than sweet, but I’m into that lately.
RED JUICE: 2 beets, 4 carrots, 1 cucumber, 3 stalks celery, 1 apple, 1 lemon, 1 inch chunk ginger
GREEN JUICE: 2 cucumbers, 4 handfuls spinach, 3 carrots, 6 stalks celery, 1 apple, 1 lemon, small handful cilantro, 1/2 inch chunk ginger
YELLOW JUICE: 2 golden beets, 3 carrots, 1/2 cucumber, 1 pear, 1/2 lemon, 1/2 chunk ginger
