Well, let’s see. It seemed like a pretty long week and a simple but enjoyable weekend. I was invited to attend the San Diego Film Festival Week preview event at SILO in Maker’s Quarter Friday night. Maker’s Quarter is a cool new little artsy area perfect for evening events under the stars. The weather was warm and great for hanging out and sipping wine while watching some short films selected for Film Festival Week. Afterwards Ash and I ended up at Isola Pizza Bar, where they make the best pizza ever. I know I say this a lot but seriously, this pizza was amazing. Just delicious roasted tomatoes and fresh burrata cheese on top of fluffy thin crust. (The salad and gelato were really something too!).
I spent Saturday doing who knows what and met up with some friends visiting on a beer tasting trip. Sunday held errands and more relaxing, this time at a hotel pool I may or may not have snuck into. I had to order a pina colada to look like I fit in, right? 😉 Anyway, being around happy people enjoying their sunny vacation brightened my mood and helped me de-stress. Come Sunday night I was actually ready for a fresh week to start.
