Week Notes


You know when you happen across an article or quote just when you need it? Like a perfect little delivery from the universe, I found this little reminder which I so desperately needed to hear this week:

Learn to listen and become aware of that which can be controlled by you and that which cannot. There is absolutely no point in placing a contingency for your fulfilment or happiness onto somebody else, or another situation, that is out of your control. I finally got a little further into The Desire Map this week and recognized that I need to focus on balancing desires and expectations. There needs to be a balance between actively trying to manifest desires and working towards making them happen, while still being open to whatever is meant to be and not getting too hung up on a particular outcome. Expectation liberation is the name of the game.

That said, it was another full yet relaxed week. A peak at the highlights, plus some upcoming posts:


Post work beach run Monday evening. Although I generally despise running and lack the kind of endurance to do anything more than run-walk intervals, running on the beach around sunset with the perfect playlist just feels so right. My soul was swelling with such happiness and gratitude that I get to live a beautiful life in this beautiful place. A little dramatic, but endorphins will do that to ya.



Still feeling sore from Core40 and running, I stole my favorite dog again on Tuesday for a casual neighborhood walk. Another gorgeous summer evening. Do note my excessive bruising. WTH?


Wednesday evening I met up with Jess for some vitamin shot action, jasmine green iced tea, and mini photo-shootin. I tried the PMS Remedy shot this time and can’t recommend it enough! Plus, a little sneak peak of an outfit post to come.


Since Ashleigh and I don’t see enough of each other, we met for happy hour on Thursday and finalized some deets on our upcoming blog collab series- Happy Hour Made Healthy. Be sure to check out our first post this Thursday!


And of course, another lovely weekend. I spent Saturday morning running errands and finishing up some fun photography for a side project I’ve been working on, then relaxed the rest of the day reading at the beach while waiting for my good pal and soul sister Brianne to arrive. I got to show her around Cardiff and we super randomly ran into some friends from back home!



Sunday was definitely my favorite day this week. In a matter of 30 seconds, the craziest summer rainstorm started pounding down around 9am! Still warm but pouring rain and thunder-ing like crazy. We went to Naked Cafe for breakfast and it was like being in a real-life version of Rainforest cafe. Because the building is so open with just plastic “windows” and a tarp ceiling, water was still getting in and the storm was so loud, but it was like being in a secret hideaway. I cozied up with a passion tea almond latte and delicious artichoke scramble, then we shared a coconut french toast slice for dessert (necessary). After, we headed down to Point Loma for a special workout at Orange Theory Fitness with the blog friends. We got our butts kicked and I absolutely loved it, so again, post to come! 😉


I can’t believe July is almost over but I’m excited for August (birth month!). Have a great week, friends!
