September is a good month. August will always be my favorite, but I’ve come to realize that I love fall just about as much as summer, and this month of transition is perfection.
I’ve had so many unusual weeks lately that I don’t know if I have actually do have a routine anymore! While I’m enjoying staying busy and shaking things up, I’m ready for things to slow down a bit soon and get back to feeling a little more grounded (and caught up on life!). Beach runs have been just about the only constant lately, keeping me balanced with such amazing stress relief and perspective. In the meantime, I threw in my pictures from this week and suddenly realized all but two were taken at the beach. That’s when you know it’s been a good week!
For my fourth and last three-day weekend in a row, Ash and I went up to Malibu for a mini road trip weekend full of beaching, camping, foodie stops, music blasting and hilarious memories. (We hit so many great food spots on the way there and back that I’ll have to share in it’s own post tomorrow!). The majority of the weekend was spent hanging at the SurfAid Cup (and related festivities) making new friends & straight relaxing. We had to use the ocean as a bathtub in lieu of showers and I’m still shaking the sand out of my hair, but it was worth it. After a week of spontaneous adventures and going with the flow, I’m feeling so recharged and full of life.
A peek into the week:
Padres game at Petco Park with the birthday girl!
Gorgeous sunset at the SurfAid Benefit night
Enjoying Maca-Tini concoctions with Sol Raiz Organics maca and Coco Cafe. The maca and coffee kept us awake for our late night trek to set up camp later, and the coconut water left us hydrated and hangover free the next morning!
Spent all day Saturday sweating, swimming and watching surfing. The waves were really good and it was awesome to be around such good energy and people who are so dedicated to a great cause. SurfAid raised over $120,000!
A memorable after party and disco Uber ride later, the next morning we were delirious and back on the hunt for some good coffee! Iced mint cubanos got us feeling like (mostly) real people again for a fun ride back to San Diego.
And now I’m finally home after a salty, sandy weekend to catch this pink sunset. A shower never felt so good 😛 Here’s to a new week!
